Accredited online Bible colleges are geared towards students who are looking for a career in the ministry or who are interested in education based in religious fundamentals. What is Bible College? Accredited online Bible colleges have a curriculum that differs from other liberal arts institutions and regular universities in that their coursework is Bible-based. Bible colleges still offer Associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, certificates and diplomas, but may not include some faculties that regular universities have, like Philosophy. Bible colleges may also have programs that involve ministry licensing and ordination, and other secular education programs that focus on things like Christian education or music. Nazarene Bible College One of ten Nazarene institutions in the U.S., Nazarene Bible College has a campus in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and also offers online learning. Founded more than 45 years ago, Nazarene Bible College offers four-year learning programs. Along with Bachelor's of Arts degree programs in Ministry and Lay Ministries, Nazarene Bible College offers non-degree programs in Keyboard Ministries and Pedagogy and Early Education Ministries. Northwestern Theological Seminary A part of the Christian Alliance Ministries Worldwide, Northwestern Theological Seminary focuses on Masters degrees, but also has Bachelor degree programs. The courses at Northwestern Theological Seminary are geared towards preparing people for a ministry or improving currently existing ministries. To be as accessible as possible to students from all backgrounds and those with greater financial needs, Northwestern Theological Seminary has something called a “Love Offer” which cuts out up to 98% of tuition and costs. Accreditation for Bible Colleges Many Bible colleges, seminaries and Faith-based private schools do not seek regional or state accreditation and are not governed by the U.S. Department of Education, as Christian educational ministries are exempt from secular accreditation. If you don't find accredited online Bible colleges that are sanctioned by the Department of Education, you can still check the institution in other ways. You can try to find out if the organization has been recognized by the U.S. government as a religious organization, or check to see if it is affiliated with a reputable ministry. Bible colleges also tend to seek accreditation from a body like the World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions, so when you see schools listed as accredited online Bible colleges, this is generally the organization they refer to.
