Since so many of the Art Institute of California's degree programs revolve around technology and art, they make sure that the curriculum is up-to-date by consulting with industry leaders.
Collins College
Located in Tempe, Arizona, Collins College is not a cartoon school, but it offers training in design and technology.
With bachelor degrees in animation, media arts, computer graphics and game design, it's a good spot for people who are looking into careers in digital animation.
There are also associate degrees in media arts and visual communication, and certificate programs in computer graphics, digital video production and multimedia production.
Not only are the degrees two-year programs, there is also job placement assistance available at Collins College.
The Center for Cartoon Studies
For students more interested in studying the story aspects of illustration, comic books and cartoons, would be happy at the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont.
While the Center for Cartoon Studies teaches graphic design and narrative writing, they do not teach animation.
The Center for Cartoon Studies is a more traditional cartoon school. They place value in self-publishing and teaching students to create quality literature, instead of simply drawing pictures.
