Okaloosa Walton Community College is now called Northwest Florida State College. In 2008 the name was changed to reflect an expanded district and new mandate. One of Florida's first state colleges, the former-Okaloosa Walton Community College is a small campus that is a part of the Florida Community College system. With less than 10,000 students, classes are intimate and students get the attention they need. Mandate Northwest Florida State College (formerly Okaloosa Walton Community College) has a goal to make education more accessible to anybody who seeks higher learning.
