Tacoma Community College is committed to offering excellence and easy access to it's student body through the dozens of degree and professional programs it offers. With four semesters of classes, starting every September, January, March and June, it's very easy to get started at Tacoma Community College. There is student government and media, sports and athletics and student clubs that range from a gamers club and an extreme dodge ball club to a Chinese culture club and a history appreciation club. There is something for everyone. Student ambassadors also represent the college both in the community and on the campus. They make new students feel welcome as soon as they start school their first year, ensuring that nobody feels lost in the 15,000 students enrolled each year. The Location The main Tacoma Community College campus is smack dab in the middle of the city. While there are lots of on-campus amenities that will keep a student occupied for hours on end, there's something to be said for being able to walk off campus to find a coffee shop or a theater. The Campus The main campus has a lot of resources, including a gymnasium and fitness center, a children's center, an art gallery and learning centers like the new information technology building and a learning resource center. There is also a web café and computers in the Tacoma Community College library for students on the go to check their email. And WI-FI hot spots throughout the campus for those students who are lucky enough to have a laptop and need to get a Facebook fix on their way to class. The Benefits Tacoma Community College makes sure they really do combine the community with the college. There are lots of ways to get involved in the school and to work with other community organizations in Tacoma. Working with the Community Tacoma Community College has partnerships with more than 150 local businesses and professionals who participate on the college's advisory committees. Working with these professionals allows the college to make sure that their programs stay relevant to the needs of the industries they are preparing their students for. Programs like Tacoma Community College's information technology, human services, health, business and office professional courses all benefit from this community involvement.
